The 8th Street Samba by Ronnie Fieg for Clarks & Adidas
I feel like as more colorways come out, this is going to become a staple model in people's collections. For me, it's definitely one of the most iconic triple collabs I've seen & really speaks volumes to the talent, attention to detail, & overall creativity that Ronnie brings to each of his collabs. I'm really grateful to be able to pick these up & once again, it was beautifully executed.
Materials: this colorway pays homage to the OG black/white samba, but with a premium suede upper. The upper is a soft cream suede that feels soft to touch and has a nice color change while brushing across it. Around the toe cap, you have a grey suede that carries on that soft, premium feel. Moving onto the stripes, they went with a black leather. My favorite part of this model is the tongue tag, idk why lol, but I just feel like it's a really cool aesthetic because it has the adidas trefoil logo debossed above the Fieg logo & finishes off with the debossed Clark's logo on a soft leather patch. It's something tiny, but I just love how they laid that out lol. Overall, Ronnie executed these flawlessly again.
Comfort/Sizing: the best way I can describe these is to imagine a squishy samba lol they have a nice squishy feel on foot, but also giving you a flat to the ground samba feel. In terms of sizing, I grabbed these in a size 8 (tts) & I feel like these fit me perfectly.
Overall Opinion: what I love about this design is that it takes a Samba upper from adidas & adds the iconic crepe sole from Clark's then meshes them together into its own model which honestly still baffles me every time I see a pair lol. A lot of folks worry about the crepe becoming dirty, but my green pair hasn't really had that issue, & if anything it has just been the bottoms, but I'm also not kicking curbs in them lol. This cw was my personal favorite out of the pack & am super grateful to have been able to grab these this time around. If you're able to grab a pair of these at a good price, I wouldn't sleep, if not these, truly any one of the cws would suffice. For me, these & the Shadow 🟢 are my favorites.
