Hey, my name is Aimero. Pronounced Eye-mer-row, but most call me Ro. I consider myself more of a novice even though I was surrounded by the sneaker culture through my friends growing up. Also having played basketball when I was younger, I've owned pairs I wish I still had. Other than collecting sneakers, I'm a father to a 12-year-old daughter who is going on 20 and a bowler you can catch somewhere on a lane.
Where does your inspiration for your Instagram username come from?
Haha, I never thought I would get asked this. Townboykicks really come from being from a small town and not having access to a lot of different things (sneakers included). No matter the brand, it's how you rock your kicks and that they are an extension of you. The inspiration is to be proud of you and what you have.
How many pairs do you currently have? Are you planning on keeping that number steady or growing/decreasing it?
I own about 70+ pairs. It's something that I see that will continuously grow since I'm a sucker for retros I've never owned and always wanted. In that same breath, I'm more selective in what I'm picking up and I don't need every pair. Even though it would be nice.
You seem to have a great variety of sneakers in your collection, do you have any favourite brands?
Truth be told, anything that's a low top is my favorite. I do love my Jordans but New Balance will always remain dear to me. It goes back to when it was the only thing my mom could afford and also having ran track in school, they were comfortable.
Have you ever needed to pay a resell premium for a pair of sneakers?
Unfortunately I have went down the road of paying resell but I've learned to wait on somethings and just watch for a steal.
Have you bought anything in 2023 so far?
I've purchased quite a bit this year, gotten a lot of pairs for retail and on sale. It's been a great year for purchasing sneakers!
Do you already know what your next purchase will be?
I have my eye on a couple of pairs dropping in the fall. So I'm looking forward to hopefully adding those to the collection if I land them. The Jordan 11 Gratitudes being one of them.
